A bold, kaleidoscopic sculpture that seals landfill-bound waste inside fine art. The Prism Pillar Lamp acts as a canvas for striking, high-contrast abstract art, effortlessly turning everyday consumer packaging into an eye-catching interior statement.
Beneath the sleek, multi-colored exterior lies an empty, discarded whiskey box. To give the piece a solid structure and trap unrecyclable items out of the waste stream, we packed the hollow container densely with non-recyclable plastic scrap. The box was then coated in a textured paper mache layer to create a canvas ready for storytelling.
The column features an entirely hand-painted abstract pattern, carefully blocking out vivid shapes of crimson, cobalt, orange, and peach, all separated by thick, graphic black outlines. The entire canvas is sealed in a durable, high-gloss PU coating to protect the vibrant pigments. The column is grounded by a premium, round solid wood base, and a central brass pipe rises through the core to hold the bulb holder. Complete with a clean, light-filtering cream fabric shade, it brings a warm, artistic glow to any space.
