A heartwarming personal history reimagined as a vibrant, graphic artifact. The Bark & Beetle Lamp infuses joyful, whimsical energy into circular design, proving that sentimental everyday objects can find a second life as striking functional art.

The heavily textured, organic red base carries a deeply personal story, having once served as a plastic treat box for our studio dog. Rather than letting this sentimental container head to the recycling bin or landfill, we transformed it into a permanent vessel for environmental preservation—stamping it tightly to the core with non-recyclable household plastics, wrappers, and everyday dry garbage to create a solid, durable mass.

The exterior body is hand-molded in a rich paper mache pulp and coated in a brilliant red PU paint. Our artisans then hand-painted varied black graphic spots across the curves before sealing the piece with a clear, high-gloss PU topcoat to protect its playful, ladybug-like texture. The sculptural body floats gracefully on a whimsical, organically contoured wooden base, with a central brass pipe anchoring the structure and rising cleanly to hold the bulb holder. Topped with a clean white fabric shade, it casts a crisp, welcoming glow that highlights its glossy hand-painted details.
